
Meeting On Board The BRP Nueva Vizcaya
It was on Friday, 8 February 2008, when members of the MIT Castle & Cardinal Alumni Association had its meeting on board the BRP Nueva Vizcaya which was docked at the Manila South Harbor. The group first assembled at the Apple and June Restaurant which is located at Solana and Victoria Streets in Intramuros, Metro Manila. The restaurant which is owned by Lucius C. Macaraeg who belongs to the Class of 1978, is situated just behind the Intramuros campus of the Mapua Institute of Technology. Lucius was kind enough to offer a free dinner to all those who came to attend the meeting.
Right after dinner and upon the invitation of Gilbert DLS Rueras '78, skipper of the BRP Nueva Vizcaya, the group then proceeded to the Manila South Harbor. The meeting was called to order by Reynaldo F. Fernando '72, the president of the association. There were 11 members who attended the meeting which was held at the upper deck of the Philippine Coast Guard vessel. Those who attended the meeting were: Rodolph Cannu '78, Nelso Salazar '78, Flynn Arana '87, Reynaldo Fernando '72, Gilbert Rueras '78, Lucius Macaraeg '78, Rogelio Atim '75, Hilarion Valeriano '63, Juny La Putt '59, Virgilio Florendo '59, and Romulo Awayan '78 who came with his wife.
Sandwiches and coffee were also served during the meeting by the crew of the BRP Nueva Vizcaya. When the meeting was over, Gilbert was kind enough to invite the group for a quick tour of the BRP Nueva Vizcaya. Pictures were taken and some of which are portrayed below.
